Shannon stood outside watching the train come to a stop. She could see the engineer or Timothy Woods in the window as the train passed the docking platform then came to a stop only to roll backwards about three feet. She could feel the tension from his being before he even got off the train. The conductors had opened the car doors and put the stairs at the foot of the door so the passengers could board and depart the train. Timothy Woods had remained inside.
"Was he going to come out?" Shannon thought watching the door to the engine department. There was a loud screeching noise as the latch to the engine department slid open. Timothy stepped outside, he noticed Shannon smiling at him and he smiled back and tipped his hat at her.
" He doesn't know that I know he caused the train to derail. What I don't know is how he survived it. Maybe he didn't mean to survive. I need to stop staring and go ask him some questions." Thought Shannon as she walked towards him. Shannon watched his every movement as he watched her approaching him. Her feelings inside made her feel like he was unstable and unpredictable which made her uneasy. She swallowed hard as she stepped in front of him and he looked down at her.
"Mr. Woods?" asked Shannon.
"Yes little lady, that's me." said Timothy.
Shannon's stomach was in knots, her throat felt like any minute it was going to close up like she was allergic to fear. She looked into his dark blue eyes that pierced your soul. He had graying blonde hair and his leather like skin was dark like he had smeared mud on himself for lotion. He was tall and lanky with clothes that seemed to hang on him held by sharp bony shoulders and a belt around his waist. Her skin craweled as she struggled to get the courage to stick out her hand to introduce herself.
" Mr. Woods my name is Shannon and I am doing a report at school on how a train station works. I was told you were the man to talk to about the actual train." said Shannon after deciding she was not going to shake hands with him.

About the Book
Shannon is a normal everyday teenage girl struggling for her identity in the world of adolescence. A few weeks before her sixteenth birthday she has and episode that is unexplainable. She called it a day dream but her mother knew it was something different. There is a stranger in her dreams that she feels connection to but dosen't understand how or why. As she pieces together her dreams and realizes what they really are she finds out that her well knitted family has a secret. One that had been hidden from her until she was old enough to learn the truth. There is a problem, Shannon has to master her abilities before she will be able to see the truth behind that secret.
About the Author
Jessica with her husband Les live in Jefferson, GA with her two children, Zackery and Megan. After the death of her father, who encouraged her to reach for the stars and make her dreams come true, she wrote her first book. With the enlightened help of her family and friends she was able to put in writing a book she dreamed of getting published. Something that was a hobby for her is now a possible career, Jessica is working on her second book, Imaginary Friends.
