Tearful Eye
Lord my eyes are tired and weary from all the stress and the strain
And it’s from the visions of the world today that I must place this blame
I place blame on violence and deception, that is seen to far from rare
Along with people who commit them then hide behind prayer
They witness bigotry, ignorance we should not have hear
As well as people who face poverty, hunger, depression and fear
They see those who speak to us in lies, so that we may misinterpret the word
They see those who follow false prophets daily, because their vision is blurred
People who praise themselves and earthly materials, living in a state of confusion
Never opening hearts or minds to another living in a world of illusion
My eye spots people walking through life blindly with no attempts in using vision
People praying falsely to unknown images, with no sense of religion
Ones who give up on hope, because they don’t know what it means
Ones who blame you and others for their lives, and all the trouble it brings
My eyes have seen so much of life’s tribulations and pain
That at times I wish I could close them and that’s how they’d remain
Lord my eyes are watering now, but I hold back and make sure that their open
For the relief they’ll soon see better days, is for all I can keep hoping

Why do I write so much you may ask
It is an adventure to me; it is my life’s task
It continuously takes me to places, were I often dream
Relieves the stress and the tension when I want to scream
Writing takes me into a world, in which I reign
Words lead you through my journey, as the path they explain
I receive comfort and warmth from the words I put down
And create a tighter bond within myself in what I have found
As it cleanses my mind, my spirit will lift
This is more than a talent, this is a gift
There are never any interruptions in my train of thought
And with pencil and paper in hand, imagination is brought
The reason I write with emotion and so much detail
Is why my heart pumps that desire and I cannot fail
I write because at times it’s only the paper that will listen
And for your ears to hear that, your eyes must pay attention
It releases the soul, feelings no longer in confinement
Written words speak so loud, and carry further when silent
Writing has chosen my destiny, as it will seal my fate
It will keep me remembered, as well as make me great
It is a trait given to us, from as far back as time
It is carried by all, subconsciously in mind
Writing brings out true feelings, the ones that we hide
And what’s written on paper can help as life’s guide
So how do I choose my words and place them precise
The way I make my decisions, the way I live my life
