You came into my lonely life,
And asked me to be your wife.
We wed and started pastures new,
And surely my love for you grew.
In the time we spent on our honeymoon,
I came to realise quite the true you,
My new love was not who he seemed,
How could this have passed me?
Back home you said you had good news,
I knew it couldn’t possibly be true.
You wished to move with work a fair distance,
Was that the reason? Your story didn’t seem consistent.
You moved away leaving me all alone,
In a place you wanted me to call home.
Your parents bribed me to leave my job,
My precious knowledge they wished to rob.
My parents and brother lived so near,
My love for them so very dear,
I wished to see them, as I was alone,
But your parents, so wicked, would not condone.
No love, no parents what could I do?
My job I so much wanted to pursue.
You left for the highlands with a poor reason,
What was this? Was it treason?
To you I was willing to come,<

About the Book
“The Deception of Innocent Eyes” is the autobiography of a British born Asian from a cultured family observant of liberal values and beliefs, who married in 1998. She relates her experiences, following her brief yet shadowed marriage and describes how she and her family coped. After studying at University, she decided to follow a then male dominated career in IT. Her memoir, supported by detailed recollections, is a fascinating story of determination to succeed in life accompanied by fortuitous luck.
