About the Author

Grant Manier is a high functioning Autistic child and talented artist, who day-to-day must overcome challenges that arise due to his Autism.    His mother, Julie Manier, explained to Grant at a very young age about his disability in order to help him recognize and modify his unusual behaviors by teaching him to “picture journal” about himself, using a collection of pictures from his early childhood through the present.

With this innovative method, Julie has helped Grant and other special needs students by providing them the visual awareness and understanding of how to “blend in” or “seem normal” in situations in which they may have otherwise been teased or dismissed.
