A Moment in Shade

About the Book

A Moment in Shade is a collection of poetry that was written after experiencing and battling depression for several years. Most of the poetry was written from fiction. I never experienced a lot of the subject matter in real life. Like love and passion. In my life I have never been in love or even experienced the passion and sentiment shared in some of these poems. Most, of these poems come from my ideas of what love, heartache, and betrayal would feel like. Like, the satisfaction of attraction in “I Lusted for You”. Although, very emotional the books also has a lighter side.  Like the combination of candies to make one sweet poem in “Sweet Treat”. But, some of the poetry does come from my personal feelings like “I Dread my Bones”.  Which, speaks on the idea of self-image and the trials that we tend to put our mind and bodies through.  The whole strength in this book is the idea of coming out of situations and certain emotions and bringing yourself through to and transitional point.  Heavy in emotion and full of spirit this book is sure to bring back a memory, or, even create a new one.

About the Author

As a beginner in the writing field I have found comfort in writing poetry. I have several poems published by the International Poetry Society.  In their “Eternal Portraits” series as well as in their publication “Invoking the Muse”.  I have also been honored with Editor’s Choice awards from the International Poetry Society.  As, well as being honored by the Society with a nomination for Poet of the Year in 2005. I also like to write children’s stories and short stories. But, my main love is for poetry. I have written over sixty poems over the last two years. The ones that I picked to put in this book are truly special to me because of the circumstances that they were written under. This being my first book I am very proud of the work. And hope that you find enjoyment in it.
