Wicked Ways

As Mark lye naked on the ground in a familiar alley, gasping for his next breathe. He managed to roll over onto his back. From his side, Mark lifted his trembling hand to his face as he watched the blood drip from his finger tips. He slowly put the blood soaked hand upon his chest and stared blankly skywards. Everything was silent as a single tear streamed down the side of his cheek. Mark no longer felt any pain as he fought for what was to be his last breath. In that instance his entire life flashed before him and knew he was about to meet his maker and face the consequences of what he had done in his short fifty six years of life on this earth.

What had brought him to this time and place? To better understand Mark we must go back in time to another year, back to when it all began. It started back in nineteen forty six in a small Alabama town. That town was Duntzton. The population of Duntzton was approximately six hundred, give or take a few of its transient families.

Of its six hundred or so residents was a naïve seventeen year old country girl named Leeann. Now Leeann was by far not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree if you know what I mean, But then again none of her friends were either. Leeann had no plans of attending college or for that matter a vocational school.
