About the Author
Ida Barnes was born in Leland, Miss. and attended Breisch High School (renamed Lincoln High School). She moved to the west side of Chicago in 1955. Ida attended Malcolm X College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roosevelt University in 1981. She got her degree while raising her family of six children. She has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ida is a member of Christian Love Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Steve Nelson, Pastor. Words of Wisdom is Ida's first book of poetry.
