Starting a daycare program can be confusing and costly if the perspective operator is unfamiliar with the industry and the requirements to operate. Oftentimes, those who are interested in operating a center believe it to be a simple process. Unfortunately, as with any business venture, the organization of a licensed daycare center is complex and requires patience and motivation.

“The Day Care Manual” presents the necessary information in an easy-to-read guide that will assist the reader in the research, planning and set-up of their ideal daycare program. A clear definition of “licensed daycare” and alternative programs will enable the reader to focus on the development of a program that is compatible with his or her ideas.

About the Author

Dr. Brightwell has owned/operated Blocks & Bridges Child Development Center in Teaneck and Freehold New Jersey since 1991. The program, structured in nature, was developed due to the overwhelming need for high quality service for underprivileged children.

Dr, Brightwell’s genuine concern for the safety and well being of all children, has led to the creation of  “The Daycare Manual”, a book that will allow the readers to determine whether the operation of a daycare center is a venture in which they are truly interested. Her mission is to encourage those who are passionate and to discourage those who are not.
