There is nothing as liberating as walking in the perfect will of God, and relying on Him to perfect everything He has called us to be. I will define being “called” as to be set apart by God before birth to carry out a specific assignment on the earth. Our individual assignment in the body of Christ has already been ordained before we were conceived.
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world."
Jeremiah 1: 5
It is amazing how God can use our time of adversity to develop our character and also reveal our individual assignments to us. Therefore, it is very important that we walk by faith and not by sight - not to lean on our own understanding when we are faced with diverse problems. As we walk in intimate relationship with God, He promised to direct us every step of the way. It was during the time of crisis that Esther stepped into her God given assignment. (See Esther 4).
Let us look at the story of Queen Esther. She was an orphan, a “nobody”, (her background had no linkage to royalty). However, she was chosen to be the queen of a whole empire.
The king loved her more than any of the other young women. He was so delighted with her that he set the royal crown on her head and declared her queen instead of Vashti. Esther 2:17
Does it mean that she was the only beautiful virgin amongst the other beauties in the land? I believe there were more good-looking girls to behold physically. Esther’s beauty transcended the physical. The Scriptures tells us she obtained grace and favour in the King’s sight more than the other virgins. There is something about the grace and favour upon a man or woman of God. I call it the anointing to fulfil destiny. She carried herself under the anointing of God. Her conduct was that of a virtuous woman. The King saw something unique that distinguished her among the others. That ‘something’ was the anointing of God. Esther was God’s secret agent and was chosen to wear the crown for a divine purpose.
