About the Book

The Words of the Bible are not Mine is a product of the author’s search for a reconnection to religion that he had abandoned in his youth. The book presents a rational approach to the Bible and a vision of God that is compatible with current scientific knowledge. In the author’s imaginative conversation with God, God answers many of the questions that trouble Western society today. He also offers a way to return to a church that has become increasingly distanced from modern day life and knowledge.

About the Author

James Whitney was born and raised in Parkersburg, WV, graduated from Duke University, and spent his working career in the chemical industry. Since his retirement, he has served as a business communications consultant and is a recipient of the Silver Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators. He has published a number of technical articles, but this is his first book. He lives with his wife, Katie, in Marietta, OH.
