"I'll be in, in a minute. "OK, but hurry. They're running old "Twilight Zone shows on channel 81, and you'll miss the beginning of them if you don't hurry up." "Really?" I said, "If there's one thing that could take my mind off my problems, The Twilight Zone is it. Thanks, I'll be right in." After Kim went back inside I took the sweater off of my arm. Whatever was inside me was trying with all their strength to get out. The one thing that was odd was that I didn't feel pain. I could see something moving under my skin, and it looked scary as hell, but I didn't feel anything except its movement. I walked over to the shelves and scanned them for my Xacto knife. It was perched atop a small toolbox I had made in high school. I took the knife and gently tried to poke at the thing as it moved. It moved erratically through my skin and from my hand up into my arm; digging deeper as it moved. I felt a hard pain as it burrowed deeper and deeper. At one point, I thought it would explode out from the bottom of my arm. No such luck. It turned around and headed up. My knife had made slight cuts in my arm as I followed the thing. As it got closer to my outer skin a burning sensation occurred. It bolted from my arm and stuck to the roof of the garage. Blood — my blood — splattered over my arm, face, and the back of my 57 Chevy.

About the Author
I have been writing for the past ten years. I originally started writing as a result of a bad marriage. I do not recommend this method of getting started for any aspiring author. However, that unfortunate situation allowed me the time to pursue something I've wanted to do for years. This is the first full-length novel I've written and I found it a joy to write. The prevailing authorities in the field state that the hardest novel to write is your first novel. Well guess what? They're right! It indeed was the hardest writing experience I've ever had. But, I will tell you this, also, it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my writing life as well. You can learn a lot about yourself and others close to you when you're writing a novel. I think it was John Lennon who said, "Life has a way of interfering with your goals." That's true. It's very hard to write while you're trying to hold down a full time job, keep the wife happy, pay the bills, have time to relax, and then find time to write. All in all, I've written 10 short stories, and have at least 20 or more in development. I have story ideas for at least 30 more novels. All of these ideas are very easy to come by, it's the character development and keeping the reader interested that takes time and are what makes you the reader keep coming back for more. Writing is a lonely craft, but it is nice to see your name in print and to know that others read and like your work. I have a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in CAD Technology, and am finishing my Masters in Technology Management.
