Anna's Adventure

Odo took another bite of his banana and with a full mouth said, "You have a magical name just like everyone else in this land and that's how you got here." 

“I do? I did?” asked Anna. "I don't think I understand any of this.  I was just trying to get to my basketball that fell down the manhole and now I’m here."

“Let me explain,” said Odo. “Your name is the same frontwards AND backwards! Just like me and everyone else in The Land of Zuz.  So your magic opened the doorway between our two worlds and POOF! here you are.”

“Wow.  I have a magic name and I'm in a magical world," Anna exclaimed.  "Are there others who live here? What are their names and can I meet them?”

"Whoa! Slow down! Here have a banana,” he said as he handed her a rainbow banana and sat down. “To answer your first question, yes there are others. As for your second question, I couldn't possibly remember all of their names. And for your last question, meeting them right now might be a little difficult because we are all trying to escape the dark magic that has invaded our land.”

"That sounds awful.  What is it?" she asked as she looked at all the colors on the banana he gave her.

"Well, we think that Prince Bob was so sad and lonely without anyone to play with that he wasn't watching where he was going.  As he was walking by the river that separates the rainbow region from the black and white region the Queen Black Bird Aidia appeared, swooped down and took him away to some awful place. Without Prince Bob to protect the land all the color is disappearing,” explained Odo.

“Oh no!  That’s terrible. But I don’t understand.  If all the color is disappearing why is there so much color here?" Anna asked.  “The trees are so purple and the sky is green and the grass is so blue and the bananas are the color of rainbows,” she declared as she handed the banana back to Odo.

“The only reason there is any color here is because we are on the border of The Land of Zuz,” Odo answered between bites of the banana.  “If you look over a little way you’ll see how the black magic is fading all the color away.”

Anna looked to where Odo was pointing.  She saw her basketball by a bush that was half orange and half black and white.  “Oh my!  There’s no color at all over there.  It’s all black and white.  Will it reach us too?”
