Lawrence Young was my best friend and husband for 22 years. He was a newspaper editor who mentored and inspired a legion of journalists. He used his life to lead a new generation into the profession he loved.
Mr. Young was on the Board of The National Association of Minority Media Executives of the Newspaper Association of America; The Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Communicators, The Student Press Law Center Board. The
Lawrence Young died in July, 2002 of an heart attack. His death leaves a void that will not easily be filled.
