Oh My, Has This Happened to You Too?

She’s not my daughter; he’s not my son

But I know they belong to someone

They are over in Iraq trying to make it safe

For people to live in a better place

But we want them all safely home

So that moms, dads, children and wives won’t feel so alone

Even though my family is not there

We are sending packages from here and there

To let you all know that we care.

They were all sent away with love

And we are praying to God above.

To bring them back to their families without a scratch or scar

As there families pick them up as if they are movie stars

United once again

Making more memories that will never end

Doing things they will be able to cherish and hold on to

Just the way they used to

But with more meaning from the heart

Like they used to do before this whole thing began to start

I remember the day we had to say bye-bye

All I could do was weep and cry

But I know they will be back with us soon

And everything will have new meaning even the stars and the moon

I can barely wait for this day you see

So we can all be a happy family

We thank you God for what you’re about to do

Because we all have trust in you.
