Lead Us Not Into Temptation

Candace was regretting that she had run out of the house and not put on underwear, but this was supposed to have been a quick run to the church to retrieve containers. No one was supposed to be here this time of evening. As Candace stood there holding the flashlight she tried not to stand too close to the deacon. She could feel Deacon Daniel eyes up her dress and she could fell her heart nearly beating out of her chest. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe she should let him call Deacon Cates but before she could speak, she felt his hand rubbing her legs. Candace knew she should be moving or at least screaming and shouting for him to stop. But why should she say stop when this felt so good. How could something so wrong feel so right? Candace could not move. She could not speak. She felt his hands move further and further up her dress. She felt herself breathing heavily and she felt herself perspiring. She had never been with a man before in her life and somehow knew that this was Deacon Daniels way of just teasing her. She stood there accepting his tease, wanting his tease and loving his tease. As she felt his hands getting higher and higher now on her thigh, she felt her body go completely limp. She felt her body slide down the wall and before Candace knew it she gave completely into this man, this Deacon, right here on the floor, right here in the basement, right here in the church, right here in front of God.

Now a day later, she dared to sit here in the middle aisle of church on Sunday morning not able to take her eyes off him, not able to concentrate on the preaching and not able to concentrate on God. How did Satan completely turn her life around in such a short period of time? She took her eyes off God and Satan used her in the worst way. She took her eyes off God and years of her grandmother’s training and upbringing had all been in vain.
