About the Book

It was back in the late 1970’s that I first began to write poems. In all the poems that God gave me, there Were some that related to teens and young people. I separated those into a book called “Heavenly Rap”.

The rest of my poems are enclosed in this book, with a ‘diversity’ of subjects…poems for all Seasons.

I have several favorites, and one of them is Called ‘Noah’. This poem is about my baby parakeet. He died Christmas of 2003. I had him for six ‘cute’ years. It Will seem unbelievable, but every thing I wrote about Him is true. In my poem, ‘The Auctioneer’, a lost soul Is being auctioned to the highest bidder. Who will the Highest bidder be? Another favorite is ‘Baby Tree’. It Deals with ‘attitudes’. And ‘Baby Tree’ had a good Attitude; one I need to follow… The poem ‘Easter, Matt. 19, and 27: 19-25 (My Version)’ is perhaps my Very favorite. Again, the Lord has given me special words and Phrases, but then, you’ll see.

I hope these poems will make you smile, reminisce, And most of all, touch your heart as the Lord has Touched mine in writing these poems.

                                 The Lord bless you all.

About the Author

Beverly Yribe was born in Portland, Oregon, but has lived in San Francisco, Ca for many years. It was there that she wrote most of her poems.  She belonged to the Voice of Pentecost Poetry Club, led by Rev. Marilyn Gazowsky, founder of the VOP.  In 2004 she returned back to Oregon to live and write.

Beverly’s first book, “Heavenly Rap”, is a book of poems written in ‘Rap’ style for teens and young people. The enclosed poems are a group of ‘mixed’ subjects…poems for all seasons, but not in rap style . She is also working on a children’s book, which she enjoys.

One thing about her poems and stories; when she begins them, she doesn’t know how they’ll end. “I don’t know what is going to happen to the characters until the poem, is almost finished. I have certain ideas, but God seems to change things around. When these poems are finished…I  KNOW that God had a better idea!”
