There are six great events in biblical history. The 1st momentous event was God’s creation of the heaven and the earth. Most people believe the universe was God’s creation more than 13 billion years ago and is biblical history. Scientists still don’t understand how the universe was formed and the species of life forms on earth evolved or were created. There are many scientific hypotheses and theories put forth over the years to explain the formation of the universe and life on earth. They have evolved and changed with time.
The 2nd great biblical event was the catastrophic flood in Noah’s time. In 1997, it was discovered there was a break in the wall of the Mediterranean Sea that flooded a very wide area during Noah’s time. The known earth was engulfed in water that rose thousands of feet up the highest mountains. Archaeologists have found the ruins of the great flood near the top of mountains indicating the floodwaters rose to these great heights. After the flood Noah’s ark came to rest near the top of Mt. Ararat in Turkey.
The 3rd momentous event was the virgin birth of Jesus. The miracle of Jesus’ birth is impossible to understand. It is scientifically illogical and makes no biological sense. It has to be accepted on great faith and faith alone. He was born to be the Messiah and the salvation of man’s sin. He died crucified as a sacrifice for man’s sin.
The 4th great event in all biblical history was the crucifixion of Jesus. His birth, life and crucifixion were prophesied in the Old Testament hundreds of years before he was born. Jesus told his Disciples he would soon die. Crucifixion was the most brutal form of Roman punishment and Jesus was crucified for crimes many said he was innocent. The Crucifixion is one of two greatest historical biblical events. It is recognized and celebrated more than 2000 years later by more than a third of the world’s population.
The 5th momentous event in biblical history and probably the greatest was Jesus’ resurrection. God brought him back to life. His tomb was empty of his body. He came back as a living man; he walked among and talked with his Disciples and a gathering of 500 for 40 days before he ascended to heaven. Scientists are unable to explain how he came back in the flesh. This, too, is impossible to understand. The greatest religion the world has ever known, Christianity, was founded on the birth, ministry, crucifixion and resurrection of Christ Jesus the Messiah.
The 6th great event in biblical history is prophesied and described in the Bible and has yet to take place. The Second Coming of Christ is repeated in the Old Testament and the New Testament. It says Christ will come again in a Glorious Appearing. Behold, he is coming with clouds, and every eye will see him. He will not come on earthly clouds but on clouds of praise. It says Christ will come and gather up his faithful, both the dead and the living, and reign over the earth for a 1,000 years, a millennium of peace and righteousness.

The information is interpreted to provide the reader with current thinking on the subject.
This book tells the history of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and how Christianity relates to Judaism and Islam. It examines the time, events and people from the Bible in light of the discoveries of archaeologists, religious historians and forensic scientists. An attempt is made to define the historical Jesus and the Christ Jesus of faith. The author has applied his scientific and analytical research skills to the historic record and reached conclusions about the history of the three great religions.
About the Author
James Kenney was born and grew up in Richmond, Virginia the son of Jacob and Lois Kenney. He grew up with an older brother Walter, an older sister Louellen and a younger sister Mae. The Kenney children attended Sunday school every Sunday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in the Woodville community and when they were older at Mount Olive Baptist Church in the Church Hill community. Also, every Sunday the family attended St. John Baptist Church, the family church, in the Washington Park community, where our father was a member for over 40 years, and Chairman of the Deacon Board and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years. We were all baptized and joined St. John.
James Kenney, as a young adult, was a member and served on the Board of Trustees of First Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.
James Kenney graduated from the public schools of Richmond, Virginia and graduated with B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from Howard University. Also, he graduated with the PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Akron. He served in the United States Air Force as an officer, research chemist and contract administrator and spent more than 30 years in industry as a research and development scientist and manager. He has published 20 scientific papers, contributed 2 chapters to 2 books and holds 6 US patents. He and his wife, Velma, have three adult sons, Herschel, Warren and John, daughters-in-law Mary Ann and Monica, and granddaughter Camryn and grandson John. Jim and Velma live in Jacksonville, Florida and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He is an avid golfer, photographer and yardman.
