There are no extensive annotated bibliography and references accompanying this work. The author wanted to only consider the more recent information not covered in books, except where listed. He has attempted to write in a modern way, to blend history, fact and legend. This approach to writing is designed to educate and interest the reader in the subject matter. The author has applied his scientific and analytical research skills to the information and has provided an explanation for the biblical record. The information is interpreted to provide the reader with current thinking on the subject.
This book tells the history of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and how Christianity relates to Judaism and Islam. It examines the time, events and people from the Bible in light of the discoveries of archaeologists, religious historians and forensic scientists. An attempt is made to define the historical Jesus and the Christ Jesus of faith. The author has applied his scientific and analytical research skills to the historic record and reached conclusions about the history of the three great religions.
About the Author
James Kenney was born and grew up in Richmond, Virginia the son of Jacob and Lois Kenney. He grew up with an older brother Walter, an older sister Louellen and a younger sister Mae. The Kenney children attended Sunday school every Sunday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in the Woodville community and when they were older at Mount Olive Baptist Church in the Church Hill community. Also, every Sunday the family attended St. John Baptist Church, the family church, in the Washington Park community, where our father was a member for over 40 years, and Chairman of the Deacon Board and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years. We were all baptized and joined St. John.
James Kenney, as a young adult, was a member and served on the Board of Trustees of First Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.
James Kenney graduated from the public schools of Richmond, Virginia and graduated with B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from Howard University. Also, he graduated with the PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Akron. He served in the United States Air Force as an officer, research chemist and contract administrator and spent more than 30 years in industry as a research and development scientist and manager. He has published 20 scientific papers, contributed 2 chapters to 2 books and holds 6 US patents. He and his wife, Velma, have three adult sons, Herschel, Warren and John, daughters-in-law Mary Ann and Monica, and granddaughter Camryn and grandson John. Jim and Velma live in Jacksonville, Florida and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He is an avid golfer, photographer and yardman.
