About the Author
My Name is Gerald Long. I have been in the restaurant business for ovr 25 years. As a Culinary Chef I fed groups ranging from 2-10,000. Later I took over larger projects that brought me in direct contact with the people who pay the bills
The Customer!
As most individuals in the working world I work many hours, so we often spend our days off allowing others to take care of us. 25 years and a lot of money later I have visited many places that either had me back, or lost me for good. We ( My Wife and I ) often thought these people invested so much in their business for them to be so blind as to the things that were happening to them. They were losing business instead of gaining it!
In this course of time I became a consultant for a restaurant chain, and did monthly evlautaions of restaurants. Instead of making enemies, I made many friends. I took the approach that I was there to help them make more monye. This was my favorite part of my carrer. I became more of a teacher and this was fun! This is when I thought I could help more people then just those in this chain. I started to share my vision with friends and business people and deicded it was time to go further.
One of the most important things I learned was to teach "why we do what we do?" This theory changed the thought that someone was telling me what to do, and instead was sharing ways to be successful.
The Ultimate problem is if we do not take care of our number one commodiy ~ The Customer ~ Someone else will.
When we do not take care of the customers ~
