About the Book
The Tree House is a story about three young brothers who lose their father in a tragic accident. But that’s just the beginning of the story! As they grow up and go their separate ways, they each discover their purpose in the world – with the help of someone from another world. At the same time, they gain a special glimpse into why the world is the way that it is, and why certain events take place.
The Tree House is a mixture of several different genres:
It is a children’s book for the mature child. It deals with the topics of death, war, and good and evil – but not too graphically, and in a storybook sort of way. Children will sense, through the book’s relevant characters and experiences, that every life is meant for a purpose. The large illustrations are colorful, imaginative, and full of emotion. The book is relatively short, and can be read in several sittings or less.
It is a book that will touch the emotions of adults as they read it to themselves or to their children. It will inspire and lift their spirit. The nature of the story and the messages that it contains will provoke meaningful discussion. Although they follow and pertain to the story, the illustrations can be stand-alone works of art.
It is a “coffee table” book that, once picked up, because of the illustrations and ease of reading, will be impossible to put down. The cover will spark the curiosity of whoever sees it. They will be drawn to open it and see what it is about. Once they do, they will want to read it on the spot!
About the Author
As a third-generation Arizona native, P. H. Williams is deeply rooted in the American Southwest. His maternal grandparents moved to Arizona in the early 1900s as small children, to later become farmers along the Gila River, west of Phoenix. His paternal grandparents moved to Phoenix in the 1930s to begin a medical practice. In the footsteps of his father, he has worked in the high-tech industry in the Phoenix area for the last twenty years, where he lives with his wife and three children. He has several technical publications; this is his first fictional work.
The author’s personal perspective on writing and art is that it is best when it evokes a sense of awe and wonderment. It is his hope, that when reading The Tree House, you will be pulled into a different place and time, you will be inspired, and you will be motivated to think in an unusual way. If this happens to you, then he has happily accomplished his objective!
