About the Book

This book consists, primarily, of poems that express truths about many different subjects. Most of the poems are supported with a passage from the Bible expressing the same truth or something about the truth expressed in the poem.

Each writing can be contained on an 8 ½ x 12 sheet, so the reader can get a "truth pill" in only a moment of time. The writings are designed to inform, inspire, rebuke and praise. It can be an attitude changer that will greatly improve the day ahead or give rest for a good night''s sleep. Confusing questions of theology are clarified in a single poem.

The author was greatly blessed as the thoughts came to his mind. He hopes you might know the same blessing as you read the words and meditate on the ideas.

About the Author

Kris grew up with people who had no interest in church. He attended a few times with some friends as a teenager. Common sense told him there had to be someone who made and ruled the world and universe. He made a vow to this God, whom he could not define, and proceeded to learn everything he could from the Bible, church people, the sciences and even those who questioned and contradicted the Bible. He worked his way through college and graduate school, earning two degrees. He taught Greek in a small college and worked secular work so he would not be pressured to place religious traditions above the Bible. Perhaps that which best represents his faith is found in the following words which are also one of the writings contained in this book.

Born in ignorance and poverty, I opened a book one day. From Abraham I learned the power of faith, from Isaac I learned the the meaning of faithfulness, from Jacob I learned the reward of patience. From Isaiah I learned to see beyond human perception, from Hosea i learned forgiveness beyond human will, from Jeremiah I learned compassion beyond human understanding. From David I learned the thrill of courage, from Solomon I learned the satisfaction of wisdom, from Josiah I learned the reward of obedience. In Matthew I saw God''s grace, in Paul I saw God''s mercy, in John I saw God''s love.

Then when knowledge, courage, will and all other human capacities left me short of completion, God who said, "Let there be!" and brought forth a universe from himself, clothed the same word of his mouth in Jewish flesh and named the result JESUS... Jehovah saves.
