Lisa: (itching noticeably) I can’t stand this dress. All this lace is itching. I don’t know why momma bought me this dress anyway.
Johnny: (tugging at neck) Lisa, You think that is uncomfortable, imagine how I feel. I can hardly breathe with this bow tie right under my neck.
Bobby: That’s why I hate Easter. We shop a whole day trying on shoe after shoe, shirt after shirt and bow tie after bow tie.
Katie: (steps very high when she walks) And these shoes are hurting my feet. I can hardly walk.
Johnny: Well Katie why in the world are you wearing them?
Katie: Johnny, it’s Easter! It’s only one day and I had to look nice. My mom told me to walk extra careful. First thing Monday, these shoes are going back to the store so she can get her money back and I sure will be glad.
Pastor (goes to Katie with concern): What’s wrong child? Did you hurt your leg?
Katie: No sir. Just following my mother‘s orders. She told me I better not scar these shoes. (children exit)
Pastor (turns to wife): Honey that’s a shame. Doesn’t anyone explain the true meaning of Easter to their children anymore?

About the Book
Working with youth groups for seasonal programs can be a challenge especially when you are trying to find the right play or skit to accommodate your group. This publication was written to take away some of the challenges. Does this sounds familiar? The perfect play but too many characters, too few characters, not enough girl parts, not enough boy parts, lines too difficult or too much staging required. Does the presentation have a message? These are a few problems I encountered as a Youth Leader. That is why these presentations were written to accommodate all ages and a variety of group sizes with easy staging that can be performed in almost any size space. Most parts can be easily changed to accommodate a girl or boy with a simple change of a name. Parts are easy to memorize and the messages are memorable and life changing. This publication also includes a teaching guide for group study to reinforce the Easter message of each presentation.
About the Author
For as long as I can remember, I have been writing something. I still have an old notebook from elementary school that contains my personal collection of inspirational poetry. As a youth, active in drama ministry, I would add scenes to plays that I thought were boring. Eventually that led to writing my own skits and plays, some of which some youth groups continue to perform for seasonal programs. In the midst of my writing, I realized that I was actually walking in a divinely inspired gift. I thank God for the opportunity to reach a portion of the masses with these anointed presentations. I pray that I am counted faithful with the gift God has entrusted to me. I will never neglect the fact that some have been introduced to Jesus but rejected Him while others haven’t been honored with the first introduction. I encourage other youth leaders to take advantage of ever opportunity to teach simple life changing lessons through the simple God given vessel of drama.
