About the Book

The poems found throughout this book, have been written over

a period of twelve years. Each of them birthed out of a thankful,

hungry heart in search of a closer walk with Jesus, The Christ;

The One Who saved me from myself destructive life of alcohol

and drug abuse. I have been delivered from alcohol and drugs

since my Born-Again experience in 1992. Though these poems

are praise and worship to my Heavenly Father, they are also my

prayers. It is my hope that these poems will inspire the reader

to a more intimate encounter with the Saviour that sets men free

from the burden of sin. Remember, that God inhabits our praise,

that is: He dwells in our praise and worship. So go on and praise,

love, and worship your Heavenly Father. You’ll be glad you did!

About the Author

I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 3, 1970, where I lived with my family until the age of seven. My family moved to a small town across the border to Osgood, Indiana. My parents believing a small town would be less trouble than the big city. Yet alcohol can be comsumed anywhere and I succumed to alcohol at the early age of 14. Between the ages of 14 and 21 I had become an alcoholic which led to numerous arrests. In and out of jail, prison, and detox centers I was in serious trouble yet I refused to deal with my addiction. On the night of June 22, 1991, at the age of 21 my alcoholic lifestyle led to the beating death of another young man. I was senteneced to a prison for murder where I have been for the past 15 years. A year and a half after being in prison, trying to cope with the death of the young man, a 68 year prison term and prison life itself; I was asked to a Bible study twice which I refused, the third time I accepted. I repented of my sin, asked the Lord Jesus into my life and began living according to God’s Word. Almost immediately God blessed me with the gift of writing poetry. I used it as a form of prayer, praise, and worship. Each of my poems are birthed out of a genuine love of Jesus Christ, my relationship with him, others, family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and the situations I have encountered in life before and after my Born Again experience with Jesus Christ. May these poems bring Jesus all the glory, praise, and honor of what he can do with such a messed up life.
