CHAPTER 11 - June 25, 1994: Palm Beach County¾Mike Wiley, Do Not Enter

The Hillary Far Left Wing of the Democratic Party always strives for diversity, except diversity of opinion. The Far Left never wants anyone to have a say in the matter. This concept was common in other Left-wing parties like the Nazis and communists. And it was true in Florida.

As part of the campaign, every Senate candidate was invited to speak at a candidate's forum in each of Florida’s 67 counties. That is, of course, only qualified candidates who had made the ballot. But in Palm Beach County, home to Left-wing Democrat Ron Klein, this was not the case. I had stuffed Klein’s gun control bill down his throat, and he was not inclined to have my opinion heard during this campaign. He had heard my opinion, along with the opinions of 7,500 other Americans, at the Freedom Rally in Tallahassee, and he definitely did not want me speaking again.

Klein and the Far Left were not about to give me an opportunity to speak, although they allowed the other three liberal candidates the opportunity. But they had to fill my seat, so they invited a female candidate from West Palm Beach, who had failed to qualify. They said they wanted to give her a chance to show the people how she could have performed if she had only qualified.

This is typical of Left-wing Democrats. Change the rules when the rules don’t suit their needs.

I was at a Democratic forum at a synagogue in West Palm Beach on a Tuesday in the middle of the hot summer, when a fellow Democrat who was running for Congress mentioned that he looked forward to hearing me at the U.S. Senate forum on Thursday.

“What forum?” I asked.

I had no idea the forum was being held because I had not been sent an invitation, even though I was a qualified candidate. When Left-wing Democrats can’t win, they cheat. These are the same people who scream for equal rights and freedom of speech.

Because I hadn’t been invited, I didn’t have the forum on my schedule. I was planning to campaign in Panama City and Pensacola that weekend, where I was to meet with union leaders. However I decided to fit the forum into my schedule. It meant hours more driving because I wasn’t a wealthy candidate and couldn’t afford to fly. But I wasn’t going to let them get away with this.

I got the phone number of the county chair and let him know that I would be at the forum. In an amazing tone of outright gall, he told me that I was not expected to attend, and I shouldn’t. There would be no seat for me, he said, and they would prefer that I not show up.

That made me quite angry. Was I, a Jewish candidate, being discriminated against by Jewish Democratic leaders? Why, because I stood up for gun rights? Had they forgotten the Holocaust? Nazi gun laws prevented Jews from protecting themselves. For them to ask me not to show up was amazingly hypocritical. How could a Jew sell out a Jew? This is a very important question, because I would later be trashed in the Jewish newspapers in favor of Hugh Rodham, an acknowledged ignoramus who would later sell Bill Clinton’s pardons to convicted drug dealers for $400,000. 

What should I do, go down to Palm Beach on a Thursday and then try and drive 10 hours to Panama City? Try to crash the forum in front of what I knew would be a crowd hostile to a religious Jew who believes in gun rights?
