About the Author

My name is Jean Harrity and I have been working in the beauty industry for the past 15 years. I have had the opportunity to wear many hats such as Nail Technician, Esthetician, Medical Esthetician, Esthetic and Nail Teacher, Salon Manager, Make-Up Artist and Permanent Make-up Artist. For the past 9 years I have been working mainly as a Medical Esthetician, Esthetics Teacher and Make-Up Artist in the state of Illinois. I have worked with many different types of skin, various skin imperfections and skin disorders as well. I have also worked with a wide variety of skin care products and am very familiar with cosmetic chemistry. I have been able to help hundreds of clients get on a regular skin care regimen to equalize their skin and help it cure itself of certain skin problems.

In the role of the Medical Esthetician, I work with a group of Plastic Surgeons and am able to take care of patient’s skin care needs. I perform treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Endermologie, Chemical Peels and other forms of skin and body treatments. As a free-lance make-up artist I have worked for Maybeline, Nexxus Beauty Systems, Loreal, and Teen People Magazine. I have also had the opportunity to work with several photographers to perform make-up applications for models. Teaching make-up classes is another part of my business that I truly enjoy. I teach at various locations such as skin care centers and a local college called the College of DuPage.
