If you were to leave the District of Columbia, drive out in the pastoral countryside of Great Falls, Virginia, you would no doubt find your way to the Colvin Run Mill. It's an 18th Century gristmill that had been restored and maintained by the Fairfax County Park Authority.
Perhaps you would miss it, but look across the street from the mill and there is the $1.59 mansion that is the subject of this story. It appears to have always been there. Thirty years ago this mansion sat in Tioga, Pennsylvania. It was through the effort and hard work and also very unusual circumstances that this grand house found its way to Virginia. This is the story of how Robert and Carol Robinson found the house, completely dismantled it, and reconstructed it; in it's present location.

About the Book
It isn't because we did something that someone else couldn't do; it was because we did something that someone else wouldn't do. That's the reason the story is unusual or even a story at all. I sometimes wonder if it wasn't fate. We were prepared for it in an unusual way, and events were so unpredictable that only providence could have stepped in the picture. It was up to us to step aside and let her have her way.
