“You don’t know anything about him. Donovan was nice and sweet when you first met him too?”
“He was so caring when we first got married. He taught me so much about God. I want that part back.”
“Just because he was used to bring you to Christ, doesn’t mean you owe him anything. God could’ve used anyone. There are plenty other men in this city, who would love the opportunity to be with you. You don’t need him.”
“Yes, I do.”
“No, you don’t. You only need Jesus. You can make it without a man.”
“You don’t understand.”
“You’re right I don’t.” She went into the kitchen and put her plate in the sink. Then she poured herself another cup of coffee.
“I prayed for him
“That was a long time ago and things have changed. I know you are a God fearing woman but don’t be a damn fool. God doesn’t want you to be a punching bag. He doesn’t want you to allow negative things in your life.”
“That’s not what I want either. My situation is different. My husband is a pastor. He wasn’t supposed to cheat on me.”
“Donovan would’ve left, if you had cheated on him. Don’t be like the women who tend to do what their mothers did. They accept the situation and try to keep the family together. You don’t have to. We can’t keep putting the needs of sorry ass untrustworthy men before our own. Even if you don’t care about yourself, look at your kids they deserve more.”
“It’s easy for you to say because you’re not in my shoes.”
“I might as well be. If you don’t love yourself enough to get out nobody can help you. What about your daughter? How are you going to explain your situation to her when she’s faced with relationship difficulties? The first thing she’ll ask is why you stayed with her daddy after he beat you. Alicia, you can break the curse. It can stop with you. Is this the type of life you want your daughter to live?”
“No, that’s not what I want.”
“You have to fight for them. They need you to survive."

About the Book
Feeling sexually deprived because her husband was overseas, Harmony set out on a mission to fulfill and explore her sexual fantasies.

After several years of writing and sharing with family and friends, “What God Has Joined Together,” is Karamel’s first published novel. In reading this novel, she hopes that the reader will understand that you can overcome anything if you just believe. Although, you may try to run, you will never be able to hide from God.
