The weather outside was dreadful, which only made the journey that much more difficult to undertake. The urgency of the trip, however, required an immediate departure and farewells would have to be brief. The group had just received word that Jornigyn’s men were on the move to the south and they knew action must be taken immediately. "Well," Surin began, "I know we have only recently found our comfort here, as we have been on the road many weeks. But once again we must be on our way." The dining hall of the castle had fallen silent at the beginning of Surin’s speech and now all eyes were upon him. The fine dinner was all but forgotten with the news that fields and houses alike had been set ablaze to the south in Lyrensdale. The soldier who had brought the news was a boy really. Newly enlisted in the Clorian Knights, he was acting as scout and merely able to report the happenings of his county. "We have been fighting these bandits who appear, strike, and disappear with the annoying persistence of a gnat. Tonight, however, they have pushed too far," Surin continued.
