About the Author

Karl R. LaPan

Mr. LaPan is President and CEO of the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, a technology business incubator and entrepreneurial resource center.

 

Mr. LaPan received his undergraduate degree in 1986 from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire, where he was graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Management with High Honors, Summa Cum Laude. He was also Class Salutatorian. Upon completing his academic degree, he joined General Electric Company, and in 1988, graduated from its prestigious Financial Management Program. Subsequently, in 1993, Mr. LaPan received a M.S. degree in Organization/Human Resources Development from The American University in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the PI Alpha Alpha Honorary Society. Mr. LaPan graduated from the Mahler Program for Executives in December 1998.

 

He is an adjunct faculty member in the Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) School of Business and Management Sciences MBA program and an a

adjunct professor in the accelerated MBA program at Taylor University. In addition, he serves on the Taylor University MBA Advisory Board.

 

Steve Franks

 

Mr. Franks is Program Manager for the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center’s NIIC Gateways program, an acceleration program for high potential technology ventures.

 

Mr. Franks received his undergraduate degree in 1990 from Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). In 1996 he received an MBA degree in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and was awarded the University’s 1996 George Hay Brown outstanding Marketing Scholar Prize.

 

He is the owner of innovation consultancy Steve Franks Innovation Services, LLC. Mr. Franks is an associate faculty member of IPFW’s School of Business and Management Science and a member of the IPFW Alumni Board of Directors.
