About the Author

I started writing poetry when I was about 13 years old.  I was one of those people that loved English and Reading, and hated Math and Government.

I started writing my feelings down and it just so happened they rhymed.  (That was a joke) Sometimes, I get so involved with my poems; I start to sound like Dr. Suess, even in a normal conversation. Once I started working, after my daughter was of school age, it just started to be a ritual over and over of people asking me to do simple poems for them.

Sometimes it was for a birth, sometimes for a funeral. Reunions, promotions…etc. I enjoyed doing it so much; I kind of became “the poet” for my company. I always wrote my inner feelings for each and every one. But a lot of times I wrote things with an inspiration of what I overheard people say, their open feelings.

I can never write fast enough. Sometimes when I am writing I can’t write it fast enough for the fear that I will lose that exact thought that I have in that moment. Well, go figure; I am not an expert as far as I know. I just write what I feel, and feel what I write.

I grew up in Mississippi and still reside here. I went through all the problems and pains that everyone else in this world has. My family growing up was not perfect, and my life isn’t perfect now.

I just want you to realize, that as you are reading my collection, that I am just like you. I have pains. I have conflicts, and I have moments that I think the world will end soon.

Please enjoy, because, my heart and soul, have been put into every word.

Thank you, again, and please understand that a human’s heart and soul is the most precious thing you will ever see if there is a mutual understanding that we all are human.
