About the Book

"Powerful, thought provoking, and truly inspirational" are only some of the words used to describe "First to the last Breath".  As it crosses and intertwines many traditional genres, this book provides something special for everyone. While it chronicles the life of one woman, it allows a reader to feel, live and understand her struggles, recognizing the foundations she drew upon when organized religions couldn't help, and sharing her discovery of spiritual helpers.  Allow yourself to wear her shoes and experience her abusive relationship, the seventeen years she spent single parenting three lovely boys and the hearbreak of a son's crippling accident.  Share her pain in his untimely death at 19, and the death of her ex-husband six months later.  Everything about her put into perspective at the side of her son's coffin will have you knowing her heart and soul.  It is proof to all when they compare life experiences that angels do exist.

About the Author

Lisa and her husband live in a remote community of Northeast Texas.  They run a small business that affords them the flexibility of time.  This time is spent with Lisa writing and  the couple providing relief services for disaster victims.  The remote community, with it’s old farm houses and cozy front porches provides the perfect setting for forming perspectives.  These perspectives help them appreciate the many aspects of life they encounter on a daily basis.

“I feel the best way to deal with a situation is to experience it yourself, distance yourself, (emotionally as well as physically), and then witness it through the eyes of truth.”

“Seeing things for what they really are requires putting our own emotional needs aside and keeping in mind:

The sympathetic Indian saw a wounded snake, everyone else saw a “rattler”.

Lisa is currently working on a book depicting the disasters of 2005 damages and what they revealed, all from an insider’s view.

"First to the Last Breath" is currently being recognized by Greif counseling organizations across the country as a resource tool for individuals learning to cope with the death of a loved one.

The author, Lisa Willhite, can be seen featured on a Chicago television talk show in June 06',  titled "The Essence Of A Woman".
