About the Book
Tyler Andrews is a successful, fulfilled woman on a mission. Her life is consumed with her organization Safe Haven, a safe place for abused women, and the one thing she doesn’t have time for is love. What she doesn’t know is she’s about to receive the surprise of her life! Steven Jefferson is everything she thought she didn’t want in a man. He’s much too good-looking, obviously too into himself and isn’t even a Christian! How could she possibly fall in love with a man like that? But from their very first meeting, they begin a journey that will be filled with laughter, tears, heartbreak and breathtaking romance. This journey will sweep both Tyler and Steven toward a very unpredictable place called…Destiny.
About the Author
Damele Elliott Collier
Damele Elliott Collier received her Bachelor of Arts from the College of New Rochelle. She went on to receive her M.F.A in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College. Her love of writing led her to work for over five years for the Department of Education teaching English in high school.
She is the author of two novels, “Fields of Gold” and “A Touch of Destiny”. She recently discovered her passion for film and her first short film entitled Hidden premiered at Medgar Evers College In February of 2008. The film took second place in the Kingdomwood Christian Film Festival in Atlanta G.A., in October of 2008.
She co-pastors Mt. Paran Baptist Church in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, New York, with her mother, Pastor Susie M. Elliott. Her work with HIV and youth was recognized by The Black Leadership Commission on AIDS and she received a grant from the organization for her work in 2008, 2009, and has been selected for a third grant in 2010, for her continued work with her church in the community implementing HIV awareness.
She currently teaches English Composition at Medgar Evers College. She is the host of the Radio show Voices In Motion. This show features poets, singers and positive rappers. She is the host of the Blog Talk Radio Show, Chasing God. This show deals with the everyday issues that Christians face. She is also the host of the television show, Independent Film In America. This show gives independent filmmakers a platform and a voice. She hopes to continue to use her creative talent to touch lives. She resides in Brooklyn, with her husband Carlton Collier and her two children, Hassan and Ashe’.
