About the Book

As children we fear the unknown and darkness of the forest.  As we grow older we admire its beauty and even take it for granted.  But, its beauty and grander can only shroud us so long from the reality of what lurks within.

In southern Vermont lies the quiet little town of Proctorsville.  It is here the owner of The Black River Sugar House sets his sights on the Green Mountain State’s Governor’s office.  With the help of a well sought after product and through the use of cutting-edge science technology, he is financially able to mount his campaign.  But, sometimes what we wish for isn’t always what we get.  Even though he is unaware of the consequences, he didn’t care.

With his dream fulfilled, he sits on Capitol Hill and soon forgets his roots.  What happens next is left up to Springfield’s Fire Chief Ernie Sackett and Windsor County Sheriff Pete Suthers to figure out before it is too late.  People are dying, but from what, they don’t know.  What they uncover is too bizarre to believe—that is until Medical Examiner, Carl Post and Tom West confirm their findings.  But there’s only one way to stop it—Ernie’s way.

About the Author

Tracy George Lamphere was born in Springfield, VT on August 24, 1960.  He is the youngest of three children born to Ernest (Puggy) and Judith Anne Pitaniello Lamphere.  He attended Springfield High School in 1974, and graduated in 1978 from Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington, Vermont.  He has a degree in Psychology and is currently working as a Substance Abuse Counselor.  Tracy has four children Nicholas, Kristen, Nicole, and Ashley.  He also has three beautiful grandchildren Domynic, Charlotte, and Ayrianna.

During his years in college he found that writing came easy to him.  Discouraged while reading other authors in the horror genre, he vowed to write his stories so that everyone could enjoy reading them no matter at what reading level they were.  Tracy self published his first novel The Mill in 2003

It was during 1995, he met his wife Donna, but it wasn’t until July 6, 2002 that they would marry on top of Mount Mansfield with all their children, family, and friends present.  Through their relationship, Tracy found the support and love he needed to follow his dreams.  Now ten years later, they live along the banks of Lake Champlain in northern Vermont.
