Pearls of Wisdom

          There are so many pressures in the world today.  Pressures of trying to hold the family together. Our children have pier pressures in school  where perhaps we have them on the job.  Pressure in the church where people seem to think you don’t meet their standards.  And did you ever notice that when one thing goes wrong that it seems to start in motion a series of events that are crashing before your very eyes?  Perhaps sickness will enter into the family, financial hardships arise, your teenage has gone amuck, someone in the neighborhood is spreading lies about you, and the list goes on and on.  You seem to be falling apart and you can’t take anymore. You’re becoming a basket case.

           You turn to some other source to help you escape.  You don’t want to go home because you know that your nagging wife will greet you with her problems but your beautiful secretary is so much more understanding of your needs.  You find yourself doing what you shouldn’t with someone you shouldn‘t be with.  You go to the local bar for just one beer.  Before you know it you’ve had four. You feel pretty good. Or maybe you’ve sunk so low that the only thing that helps you is that pretty blue pill. Suddenly one isn’t enough so you increase it to two and so on. It’s good to escape for a while. Life is much easier in la la land.

          When your world starts crashing in then know that you don’t have to carry those burdens any longer.  Jesus is the answer.  You weren’t designed or built to carry such a load.  When He went to the cross He took that all away, and the thirty nine stripes on His back all have a name on them.  Make Him the Lord and Savior of your life. Read His word.  Call upon Him in the day of trouble and He will answer you.

          I want you always to remember that Moses started out as a basket case but you don’t have to end up as one.
