About the Book

In 1870, when Jewel, a young woman from the Piedmont of North Carolina, falls in love and marries Charles, a widower from the mountains of  Western North Carolina, her life is eternally changed. She becomes the mother of two rambunctious twin boys and is cast into situations that she never dreamed possible. Her strong faith in God sustains her as she learns to become a wife and a mother. She must learn as a young woman what most mountain women learned as girls at their mother’s knee. Jewel, who once filled her days with church volunteer work and crocheting, must now do all the work required to provide for her new family. Jewel faces trials of every sort, from snakes and a charging wild boar to the cold shoulder of her new mother-in-law.

As the quiet nights of Moon’s Light Cove are interrupted by the screams of a panther, Jewel joins the community as they all work together to protect their families and to survive. With all that Jewel must endure as Moon’s Light Cove becomes her home, she learns that good Christian friends, no matter who they might be, are the greatest friends of all. Come and share in Jewel’s struggles and her triumphs as she learns that with God, all things are possible.

About the Author

Geraldine Fisher Ashe (Geri Ashe) was born and raised in the mountains of western North Carolina in the Quebec section of Lake Toxaway. Although ‘Moon Light’s Cove’ is Geraldine’s first novel, she has always been a writer, from writing and telling creative bedtime stories to her children and to those that she taught in the local schools as a substitute teacher. Geraldine has also written poetry since childhood and had several of her works published in the local paper. Geraldine attributes her writing to her devout faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is her personal savior through which all things are possible. Her faith in God is woven through her novel, as the beliefs of the main character and the faith she holds dear is tried and tested. It is Geraldine’s hope that this novel and those to come will be a witness for the Lord and a source of inspiration to all who read them
