Don’t treat your life so cheaply Determined, we will try To free ourselves from unjust force Do it, or we’ll die. Be ever faithful to your dreams For what we have is rare Make a stand for peace and love For this we must prepare. We hold the key within our hearts The gift of life and love Finding what we really seek Our earth to rise above.
I DREAM OF A MOUNTAIN (excerpt)

I dream of a mountain with chicken and goat
A clear running stream to use as a moat.
A vegetable garden and big hive of bees
Water that’s clean and many fruit trees.
Flowers that bloom in the spring and the fall
A companion who’s friendly and comes when I call.
A big patch of herbs to cure all of my ills
So I won’t have to take any pills.
Light from a candle, heat from the wood
A cabin that holds only just what I need
Having what I need to succeed.
But close enough to a cute little town
In case I ever want to come down
A place close enough for a good healthy hike
A place I could get to riding a bike.
In a town I could sit and meet with a friend
And a church with services to attend.

Why should we care?
There’s so many bigger
Worries out there.
Good against evil,
Wrong against right.
Their constant purpose?
Who’ll win the fight?

About the Book
My poems explore our infinite questionable universe Finding hope through spiritual belief, obtaining inner peace, and believing in yourself are major themes. It also encompass the philosophy of “it can be done.” Although geared towards women, it covers many subjects everyone has experienced. Love, hate, right and wrong are only a few emotional feelings explored. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, some will make you question why. I hope they have.
About the Author
I started writing in July of 2000. I was facing the death of my father and the end of a painful 18 year marriage. This blessing gave me strength through very hard emotional times. It’s also a lot of fun. My credentials for writing is a love for words, rhyming and life. I can never be Dr. Seuss and I don’t want to sound too obtuse, so to you may I introduce a middle-age old mother goose, explains it all. My love for God and our earth has given me the strength and wisdom needed to find inner peace. I dedicate this book to my mother, Jean. Her unconditional love and strength gave me the power to go on. She taught me to be independent, artistic and think outside the box. I can only hope to be half the person she was.
