I am tired of society being blamed for the “root causes” of crime and being mandated to ‘pay up’ with tax dollars for assistance programs. These very programs have resulted in a multitude of problems that we are all drowning in today. I am tired of failing programs, such as welfare, which continue to consume more and more of my hard-earned tax dollars each year. Recipients take advantage of the temporary assistance and become dependent on it for their livelihood and milk it for all it is worth. I am fed up with supporting such programs.
I am tired of the disregard for responsible behavior and accountability for one’s actions. The enemies include not only the criminals, but judges, the courts, and the prison system. I am tired of judges, lawyers, and a judicial system that stymies truth and justice and attempts to weaken or degrade the intent of our laws and our constitution. I am disgusted with plea bargaining for lesser charges that often returns criminals onto the streets. I am tired of the liberal mindset that champions prisoner rights over the rights of law-abiding citizens. I feel ashamed for our liberal judges who bend over backwards and loosely interpret the United States Constitution to further the agenda of political activists, ruthless lawyers, and inflate their own egos. I cringe when I hear criminals, by way of their lawyers demanding items that insure their comfort while they are in prison. Prisoners are suing because their rights have been violated and judges are giving into this foolish litigation. How much farther do we follow this insane path before we realize this is not what justice is all about? What is happening to the law-abiding, taxpayers’ rights to security and protection from criminals? What is happening to the victims of criminal behavior?
I am frustrated with the criminals and their lawyers dictating the rules to the law-abiding citizens. I am tired of offenders not serving their full sentence and being released early because of overcrowding in prisons. I am fed up with paying millions of dollars to shelter, feed, clothe, and treat criminals in expensive, massive prisons with numerous amenities for pleasure, exercise, and education. Despite these “rehabilitative” methods, criminals usually continue their criminal activity once they return to the streets. Whatever happened to prisons being a place of punishment for criminal behavior? Where did America go wrong?
