Where Have You Been Billy Boy

I learned from a cartoonist, it’s known by all the teachers, that most of all the folks you see, have dominating features. When it comes to dogs and people, whether wild or tame, everybody’s different, there is no two the same. Some wear funny glasses, some a large and toothy grin, others with a balding head, some don’t have no chin. Some have ears large and long, and some that stick straight out, some noses round and bulbous, others with a pointed snout. The next time that I went to church, and looked around the crowd, I imagined them all caricatures, and almost laughed out loud.

The Way It Is

I’m looking at the trees, I see the branches bend, Although I cannot see it, I know it is the wind. You really cannot see it, You know that it is real, It’s not something you can see, It’s something that you feel. It’s sort of like explaining God, You don’t know where to start, He’s more like a sensation, You feel it in your heart. It’s not as if he comes and goes, You can’t say round or square, It’s something everybody knows, Because he’s always there. Some time when you’re all alone, With a problem to decide, Take your time and say a prayer, God will be your guide
