About the Book
Louise Rizzo was a first generation Italian-American woman, who grew up during the Great Depression and came of age during the World War II era. Like many of her era, she was filled with faith and hope in the American Dream. Well-read and passionate about sports, democracy, and family, Louise was properly rewarded with five sons and many more grandchildren. Upon her death in 2002, her fourth child, Dr. John Rizzo, decided to compile his memories of Louise’s life lessons, which she usually shared over a steaming bowl of pasta that she made by hand in her kitchen.

About the Author
John F. Rizzo is the fourth son of Louise Rizzo, the inspiration behind “Lessons From The Kitchen.” Born in
A family man at heart, Jack is proud of his mother’s legacy of love and remains close to his four brothers, Vin, Andrew, Mike, and Frank as well as his Dad, Vincent. His greatest pride and joy stems from quality time spent with his family: his three children, Andrew, Katie, and Joey; his wife and best friend Annie; his many nieces and nephews and close friends; Jack is also a fanatical Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan! He currently resides in Hawaii while serving as an Independent School Head.
