Johnny ran up to the wall and kicked off the wall with his foot as hard as he could, grabbed the top of the wall with his hand, and threw himself over. He fell to the ground like a sack of bricks. He just laid there on the wet grass for a minute. He was in some serious pain and it took a minute to recover from the eight foot drop. The dogs in the neighborhood heard John and started going crazy immediately. John got up real fast and looked around, but he couldn’t see anything because it was completely dark outside. He could hear the cop on the other side of the wall. He was still trying to make it over the wall but he wore so much equipment that it was impossible for him to make it.
Once the dogs started going crazy, Johnny stood up real fast and took off running through the backyard. All of a sudden he stopped dead in his tracks. The back yard lit up like the fourth of July. There were police flashlights everywhere. There had to have been at least ten or more flashlights pointed in his direction. And they were all coming from different directions but pointed right on John’s every move. The police officers screamed for John to get down on the ground. Johnny got real scared and took off running in the only direction where he couldn’t see any lights. The police were all yelling for him to stop as they started closing in on him. John ran to a gate and just before he tried to hop the fence, he was stopped dead in his tracks again. He knew, at that point, he had no way out. Right in front of him, he saw there were two police officers standing on the other side of the fence he was about to hurdle. Running was no longer an option, and he knew it.
“You have nowhere to go, young man, so you might as well just give up!”
Johnny put his hands up in the air and said, “You’re right, you guys got me and I give up, sir.” The cops were all running up fast in every direction trying to close in on him.
“I give up!” John shouted to the officers. He could hear all the officers running up from behind him, but he was afraid to even turn around and look. He walked up to the gate with his hands held up high in the air.
The cops that were standing on the other side of the gate grabbed Johnny’s shirt and pulled him over the fence like a rag doll. Johnny screamed loudly when he felt his arm being cut open on the jagged steel fence. The two cops threw John viciously to the ground and pounced on him. Then other officers came running up from behind him and jumped on his back, too. Every cop on the scene quickly surrounded him in no time. Running was no longer an option as he laid there on the cold, wet ground. There were cops running up from every direction and each one of them wanted to give this beer stealing thief a punch or a kick. Johnny was screaming as loud as he could for the officers to quit hurting him. He was seriously worried for his well-being. He knew just by the way this was all playing out that he was in some serious trouble. As he lay there on the ground, getting his butt kicked, he screamed as loud as he could.
“You guys got me! I give up!”
One of the police officers punched him in the ribs super hard and told Johnny. “Stop resisting and you’ll make it easier on yourself.” Johnny tried to lie on the ground as still as he could because he knew that would be the only way these officers would stop hitting him. That didn’t seem to work. A police officer that worked Johnny’s neighborhood recognized Johnny right away. Officer Moore ran up as fast as he could and threw his knee right down into John’s back, again and again. Johnny felt like his back was being broken so he screamed.
“You guys are going to kill me! Please quit!”
