About the Book

In Oklahoma, a band of wild Indians swooped down upon the

wagon train ripping little Nancy Dixon out of her mother’s

arms and whisking her into the wilderness. Years passed.

Nancy married the youngest brave. While they were driving

to Carrolton, Kentucky in their ox drawn covered wagon, she

had Hugh Snow. When Hugh married, his wife gave birth to

Wilma.

The Scotch/Irish settlers took a steamboat up the Mississippi,

Ohio, and Wabash Rivers to Fountain County, Indiana. The

grandson, John Kerns, became a railroad man and married a

Scottish lady. They moved to southern Ohio and she gave birth to Clarence Kerns. He and Wilma married and had 6 boys and 6 girls.

About the Author

FRANK KERNS is the 2nd oldest of 12 siblings.
Two families lived in a log cabin in
Boone
County
, Kentucky
a mile from the school bus
stop. They had no TV and no road leading to the
cabin. Some people seem amazed that all of them
got an education and became successful. The
events in Frank’s life generated powerful
emotions that he projected into his writing. This is his
second book published this year.
