One of their biggest fears occurred during the spring and fall months, the seasons that humans came in the woods and picked mushrooms, and took them home. They heard through the grapevine that lived near them (and generally, the grapevine was never wrong) that they could end up being tightly packed inside a Mason jar, then stored for later use, or be thrown in a hot skillet, and slowly fried, then be eaten for dinner. Or God forbid, be put on a pizza, and slid into a hot oven and baked with sticky cheese!
With all that on their minds, the mushrooms started to get bummed out about the whole thing. They began to complain to each other that it wasn’t fair, that this could happen to them. They had no way to protect themselves against those circumstances. They all wished that they could have arms and legs, like humans, that way, they could have an equal and better chance in life.
As the wind blew through the forest, it picked up their complaints. When the wind circled the world, it flew past Mother Nature’s place.

About the Author
Frank has lived in the Detroit, Michigan area for over sixty years. For the past 30 years he has enjoyed traveling around the mid west and southern areas. As a biker he is well aware of the prejudices and fears they face, as well as the humorous situations they get themselves into. He has, for the past 20 years, created Christmas cards and calendars featuring human looking mushrooms dressed as bikers in short story with humor and dilemmas they encounter trying to get ready for the holidays. This book takes his cards one step further.
