Twice Bitten

The backdrop for the series is the Vietnam War, but the war is secondary to the underlying story. The many twists and turns in the double life led by Chief, the main character, will keep the reader guessing as to what comes next. The intrigue of his clever manipulation of his benefactors and the lavish lifestyle he established in the city as he falls in love with a beautiful girl will melt the heart of any romantic. You will feel the emotional agony and fear of the young couple as they transition between the hell of a raging battle zone and their opulent life in the city.

This story carries you through the horror of war and its terrible consequences. As the story unfolds you will experience the transformation of a young man to a battle hardened warrior, who despite overwhelming odds, always finds his way back to the love that he treasures more than his own life. You will experience the emotional highs and bottomless lows of a young man whose body survived but in the end perhaps his soul did not.

The three books in this series were written over a span of nearly twenty years. Each book was spawned by personal tragedies that caused me to look back and unlock hidden memories of what happened on a Vietnam tour to understand what was happening to me at the time.  When the series was finished I finally had brought all the horrendous events of that tour to light and I finally understood why I had struggled so much for so long.
