About the Book

Her poems are written in both languages but she warns they are not literal translations, preferring to write as an inspired poet and not as a detached interpreter.

It has been said that one should sell their cleverness and purchase bewilderment.  Ana’s poems do just that.  Enclosed are poems written by one who has traveled the world and seen much yet still finds time to find the mundane amazing.  Enjoy.

About the Author

Ana Oleson is a typical American, meaning, of course, she is not typical at all.  Born and raised in Colombia, South America, Ana later married and spent her adult years in the United States.  Fluent both English and Spanish, her views are a tapestry made of rich material, craftsmanship, love and pride.  She carries a defiant patriotism for her adopted America yet maintains a broad world view.  Her poem about the tragedy of 9/11 was published in three poetry books and was crowned with The Editor’s Choice award.

Like all art, Ana’s writing comes straight from the heart.  Ana writes of her husband who she recently lost to diabetes, the family she loves, her view of the world and a nearby mountains.  Whether she looks through a telescope or a microscope, Ana’s poems sum up what she sees and how she feels with a directness and honesty that is harder and harder to find.
