As he walked away he continued to glare at me with red tear-filled eyes. He just continued repeating himself. “You’re judging me? What you think your God? ” He staggered backwards and began to walk even farther away. “You’re not my judge. You ain’t even my friend. You ain’t nothin”, he said still with his eyes on me as he headed down the road in a slow staggering backwards motion. I saw headlights just over the hill and I watched as Cross stumbled into the middle of the road as he continued to yell at the top of his lungs. As the car drew near him, I could hear the hum of the engine get louder and louder. His voice grew more faint with each passing second. I just stood there...fridgid, silent, and still. Cross seemed completely oblivious to everything until just seconds before the car struck him. As quickly as he had turned his head, his body spiraled into the air and landed several feet away. It was at that point that my anger turned to instant remorse. I had just watched my friend stagger into a path of danger and I didn't try to stop him. Strangely enough, during that initial moment, just before he'd been struck, I didn't even care. It's as if everything that my father had taught me to feel flooded my heart all at once and then it emptied itself just as quickly. Anger controlled my actions until the very moment that I realized that the hate and resentment that I felt in that split second would carry irreversible consequences."

About the Author
Andrea Toadvin-Moore, wife and mother of two was born in Pueblo, Colorado. This first time author now resides in Ohio where she attended grade school and high school. She went on to attend the University of Toledo with a focus on Secondary English Education and Psychology. She served as an interim Educator for two local highschools during her career study. She then went on to work in the insurance arena, and after passing the state exam she served as a licensed insurance agent until her career path took a major turn. Immediately following her insurance career, she then went on to work in child and family services as a visitation supervisor and a program coordinator. She currently works in the emergency communications field where her occupation serves the needs of the community. As Christian Education Director at her church home in Ohio, she has dedicated her Christian services to the youth and young adult ministry. She serves as president of an adult women’s support group, which emphasizes Christian women empowerment. Her career background is extensive, but her ultimate career as an author is her greatest and most desired accomplishment. She has received special recognition for her literary work from "The Toledo Journal" as well as the "Sojourner Truth". Also a writer of poetry, she has a compilation of poems and special dedications that she has completed for weddings and special occasions. Along with future fiction writings, she is also working on a book of poetry. She attributes her gift of writing to the presence of God in her life.
