About the Book

     Baxter B. Ballyhoo is a very high-spirited little boy who has been nicknamed “the terror of the second grade” with good reason.

     In Baxter’s first adventure, find out how Baxter copes with a fear that he has kept hidden from his classmates…until now!

     The second adventure involves a secret and has an ending that will surprise you.

     In Baxter’s third adventure the whole second grade takes a field trip to the fire station.  That means that Baxter is on the loose!

About the Author

     Vicki Alvey works as a teacher’s assistant at an elementary school in her home town of Boonville, Indiana.  She has worked with all ages of children; however, she is currently working in a Resource Room with fifth and sixth grade Special Education students.

     Vicki has been married for 23 years to Autis, and has two daughters.  Meagan, a student at Indiana University, did the illustrations for the cover of the book and the chapter illustrations.   Samantha is a high school senior and has plans of attending Indiana University as well. They share their home with 3 cats and a lively dog, Buddy.

     Vickie is an avid reader, so it was a natural progression for her to start writing stories, poems, and puppet shows for children.  

    Vickie has always enjoyed reading books to children.  She believes that it does not matter what a child’s age is, they still enjoy hearing a story.  Read to children and encourage them to read for themselves.  It’s a gift that they will keep for their whole life.
