About the Author

Doris Bennett is the proud mother of four grown children, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of two. She has loved writing since her third grade teacher made ten copies of her first story and put them on the class library table. Writing is in her genes, her grandmother, Mary Gould-Canova was a published poet and playwright,

Doris visited the Winchester Mystery Mansion in San Jose CA for the first time in 1960. She was instantly captivated by the history, folklore and legends surrounding the house and its wealthy builder Sarah L. Winchester, the owner of the Winchester Firearms Company.
