Sometimes simple, sometimes complex,
often misunderstood or used out of context.

Symbols used to represent how we feel–
terms to decipher the surreal.
Common combinations of letters
the more used and heard–we feel we know better.
Words...
Oh how we use them
over and over–utterly abuse them.
Emotions and thoughts that I feel inside;
Words...
Won’t ever suffice but have never lied.
My thoughts and feelings are too deep for word.
The depths of my mind one has never heard.
A fathomless ocean–this...my emotion.
Until the time
simple equates with sublime
I’d rather be quiet.
Be still with my thoughts and revel in my mind.

Cry River

Last night I flooded the Nile;
best cry I’ve had in a while.
Tens of emotions–
turn tributary tears into oceans–
and as they stream down my face
my heart leaves its’ place
and lands at your feet;
where you stomp it.
Why take it if you didn’t want it?

My soul oozes between your toes
you act as if you don’t know
that where this woman once stood
there is now an emotional flood.

And like the myth of Jesus walking on water–you stepped!
The farther you went–the more I wept.
And eventually
you, I’d no longer see.

Therapeutic tears
soon will clear.
I’ll recapture my heart and be fine
be back in possession of what is rightfully mine.

The ocean I cried
will subside
and you will be gone.
The Nile will flow ever on.
