About the Author

The originality of the world viewing, excitingly humane flow of writing, literary poetic voice is inherent in her thinking as well as her books. The writer captivates and enchants by the unusual perception of life and understanding of the soul and inner world of the characters from her stories.

Liliana Gorovets, whose name originated from the charming flower lily, was born on May 28, 1960 in the little town Novoselytsya situated in the Western Ukraine. Such outstanding people as an American writer Jogn Rid, Russian writer Volodymyr Korolenko, and a poet Sergiy Yesenin once visited those places.

After graduating from the Chernivtsi Medical Institute she remained living and working in the Bukovynian city – Chernivtsi, which is well known all over Ukraine because of the multinational artistic talents it gave to the country. The world of literature and art received such famous literati as Olha Kobylyanska, Iryna Vilde, Yuriy Fedkovych, Mikhaj Eminesku, Paul Tselan; widely known singers: Dmytro Hnatyuk, Sofia Rotaru, Nazarij Yaremchuk, Pavlo Dvorskiy; composers: Vasyl Mykhaylyuk, Levko Dutkivskiy, Volodymyr Ivasyuk; painters: Mykola Ivasyuk, Ivan Kholomenyuk, Elayida Neiman, Oleh Lyubkivskiy and many others who are still living or have already met the eternity, but whose creative work contributed significantly to the contemporary culture.

When living in the region blessed by so many artistic talents Liliana Gorovets couldn’t betray these roots. When turned 18 she seriously put pen to paper to give life to the first prose creations, that were published in different Soviet literary magazines. After Liliana got acquainted and later became pen friends with Barbara Dzeber, doctor of genetics, from Saint Paul, Minnesota, appeared a great desire to be published in the United States. First letter and the manuscript to the oversees publishing house didn’t reach the addressee. The author was invited to the K.G.B (State Security Committee) with the advice not to write to Americans any more. Though the original version of the first book was lost, she couldn’t stop writing. In 2003 the trilogy “Magic Stories told by Sir Arthur” was written, the one eventually offered to the American reader. This piece of writing is a gift from the candid heart and loving soul of its creator imbued with the complex human essence, with the times of the cruel life, but again with the times of wonders.
