The young clerk looked up from the computer at the man who came out of the commander’s office and smiled at him as she said, “Good luck Sergeant Ò Mally.”
He walked over to her and before she realized what was happening he had taken her face in his two hands and gently but firmly kissed her fully on the mouth, winked at her then started walking away smiling.
With a big smile and a red face she called out after him “Oh Joe, get out of here you big tease. Hey, I’m going to miss you. Write, ok?”
Looking back over his shoulder as he headed for the exit, he smiled showing large straight white teeth and replied “Thanks Cathy and take care of yourself.”
Thinking to himself that he was no longer ''Staff Sergeant Joseph N. Ò Mally of the United States Air Force’, he was Joseph Nguyên Ò Mally ... civilian!
He had taken an in country discharge and was headed for a little rest and relaxation before returning to the States.
If he’d had any idea of the troubles, the stolen money and the deaths that were waiting for him he might have done things a little differently, but probably not too differently.
Stowing his beret he put his motorcycle helmet on, started the YZF600R, and listened to the sport bike''s engine come to life with a roar and headed to the barracks one last time.
At the barracks, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror before he started to change out of his class ''A'' uniform into civvies. He looked sharp in his uniform with his medals and ribbons and he knew it. As he changed out of the uniform the muscles on his six-foot one inch frame were well defined and stood out as his one hundred and ninety-five pounds exuded shear raw power making him appear larger to most people than he actually was. He looked Asian but was actually Ameri-Asian, American and Viêtnamese to be exact. Upon close inspection, the high-bridged nose and what he called the Ò Mally mouth stood out prominently and was the only Caucasian looking thing about him. His hair was very thick, jet black and even though almost everyone said that he looked better with longer hair he kept it cut short to medium length and in the butch or burr fashion but with the very front sticking up like a flat top haircut would. About the Book
This is a story of everyday people, probably not very much unlike you or me.
The young man of this story did not have any idea how his life was to be shaped
by the experiences that occurred, or rather the adventure that befell him as he found his soul mate. The danger and mystery that entrapped them as they struggled to stay alive while they faced the evil and greed that stolen money, kidnapping, and attempted murder caused. Their lives became anything but a dull and mundane existence, it became an adventure of a lifetime.

About the Author
The author has enjoyed life from many different aspects while traveling and working extensively throughout the world; from the ‘Mysterious Orient’ to modern Asia, from war torn Southeast Asia to the splendor of the modern version of ‘Old World Europe’, from flavorful Mexico to the wonder of the United States of America and her freedom.
He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard.
He lives in Texas where he is employed by a Department of Defense contractor as a field operation avionic aviation inspector.
He also teaches martial arts: ju- jitsu, judo, weapons, and self defense.
He is a Christian who enjoys reading, music, movies, as well as traveling, outdoor recreation, and cookouts with his family and friends.
