Kids, Flies and Other Stuff

On that sweltering August day, after I had engaged in frantic combat with the flies in my home, I realized that I could draw near to God in the midst of my trials…but something else happened: I actually saw God on another level. And I believe that Job had an eye opening experience as well. Job 42:5 in the Amplified Bible says this…"I had heard of You {the Lord} only by the hearing of the ear; but now my spiritual eye sees You." Although, Job had been serving God and honoring Him, the trials opened Job’s spiritual eyes enabling Him to really see God!

How about you? Have your spiritual eyes been opened? Although, you may have suffered trials in this life, and you may know the Lord for yourself. Indeed the night is still young. We do not know what circumstances are yet to come. But, as we surrender to the Lordship of Christ when those trials do arise (and they will, if we keep living). Knowing that the end result will bring God Almighty into full view for us to see Him, experience Him and to get to know Him more intimately. This makes life palatable even in the worst of the worst circumstances. So, then we must seek Him with all of our hearts no matter what happens to us. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all your heart and to lean not to your own understanding…. Push yourself to go deeper in your prayer time, deeper in your study of the Word. Higher in your praise and worship. Further in your walk with the Lord Jesus. Yes, the night is still young…..Keep pressing your way deeper into His presence.  

Go ahead, tell Him that you love Him. Tell Him that there is none that compares to Him. Tell Him that He is your greatest treasure. Tell Him that He is the Lord of your life. Tell Him that you appreciate everything that He did for you on the cross…and just keep on telling Him! He never tires of hearing us tell Him. Don’t bother to get up…I’ll let myself out! Go ahead worship the King; He’s worthy!
